{:en}Hey all! I promised you I’d provide you with all the swatches to OPI’s Washington DC collection, which I totally will. But thanks to the miracle of internet delivery, all I can give you today are swatches of the three limited edition shades, which came in a minipack. Shall we?
As always, these swatches are base coat + 2 color coats unless mentioned otherwise. Why no top coat? So you can see what the color does on its own.
Inside the ISABELLEtWay
The description states that “Washington’s movers and shakers vie for this caramel crème.” The name was inspired by Kerry Washington’s baby girl. Cute, no? She wanted her collection to have actual nudes that work for each skintone, and this is one of them.
So prettyyyyy! And office friendly. Normally I’m not really one for nudes, but this is real cute. But. There’s a big but. It’s so streaky. Or maybe I’m no good at applying nail polish, who knows. It looks streaky. So when you put this on, make sure you wait a good 10 minutes before applying your second layer. And now I want caramel.

A pretty cream polish. A plum color. Nothing new to see here.
“Liv” in the Gray
So this is obvs a nod to Kerry Washington’s Olivia Pope character, whom we love. OPI describes it as “This edgy, sophisticated dark gray makes a strong federal case.”
First coat was messy and patchy, but the second one more than made up for it. I love this color waaaay more than I thought I would. I actually feel a bit more badass wearing it.

Maar dankzij internet bestellingen en de bijbehorende bezorgingen, kan ik vandaag alleen maar swatches laten zien van de drie limited edition kleuren laten zien. Deze drie kleuren zitten samen in een minipack. Zullen we?
Zoals altijd bestaan alle swatches uit base coat + 2 laagjes kleur. Waarom geen top coat? Zodat je kan zien hoeveel shine de kleuren van zichzelf hebben.

De inspiratie voor de naam van deze kleur komt van Kerry Washington’s dochtertje. Schattig, toch? Ze heeft al eerder aangegeven dat ze nude kleuren wilde presenteren die ook echt nude zijn voor alle huidskleuren. Dit is één van die kleuren.
Mooooooi! En kantoor-vriendelijk. Normaal gesproken hou ik niet zo van nude kleuren, maar deze is echt leuk. Maar er is 1 groot minpunt. Hij is erg streperig. Misschien ligt dat aan mij, dat kan ook, maar het ziet er streperig uit. Als je deze nagellak opdoet, zorg dan dat je voldoende droogtijd laat tussen de 2 kleurlagen. Nu heb ik zin in iets met karamel.

De tweede limited edition kleur is een pruim/paars-achtige kleur.
Een mooie crème kleur. Een plum lak. Niets nieuws dus.

Dit is natuurlijk een verwijzing naar Kerry Washington’s Olivia Pope uit Scandal, waar we dol op zijn.
De eerste laag was erg vlekkerig, maar de tweede laag maakte dat helemaal goed. Ik vind deze kleur veeeeel leuker dan ik in eerste instantie had gedacht. Hij is badass.
