China Glaze just released their OMG Flashback collection, which is all holo polishes and I love it. Let’s get started, shall we?
As always, all swatches consist of two coats of polish. China Glaze still has skinny brushes, which usually irks me. But let’s see how this goes.
OMG
On the first coat I thought “There is NO WAY this is going to be opaque in 2 coats”. But it was. And it’s pretty. A holo if ever I saw one. Second coat needs to be a little thicker than the first one though.
DV8
This is my favorite shade of blue. The only problem, as with any blue, is the removal. So much staining. But totally worth it. TOTALLY.
IDK
This is so prettyyyyy. I love it. Didn’t think I would. But I do. But. See what happened on my index finger there? I thought about correcting it for the pic, but then I thought you should see what happens if you mess up on the thin, quick strokes.
BFF
It’s cute and girly and smooth. Not much else to say. Don’t love the color, but that’s a matter of taste ain’t it.
2nite
So this is not my favorite color. But pretty nonetheless. Same as BFF.
TTYL
This could possibly be the smoothest formula in the collection, even though they all apply fairly easily. Applied like a dream plus the base color is muted enough that it’s work-friendly, but you’ll still be able to wear holo polish to your office job.
The verdict
I like. They all apply very smoothly and got a nice holo effect that doesn’t always show in these pictures. I would have loved some originality in the shades (give me a yellow-gold holo!), but there are definitely some nice ones in here. Worth having the whole collection? Nah. Pick up +/- 2 of your favorite colors? Definitely. If you want all 6 anyway, there’s also a mini collection available that has all of ’em.
